I really like these! I can't look at the screen very long but this was nice to see briefly

Thank you so much Rosana! These were really fun to make. I'm always hoping to get them traditionally published someday, but who knows-- might not be in the cards. We shall see.

one never knows with these things! I try not to focus on publishing myself but maybe it's good to have some very specific goals. I'm currently only thinking of my next essay which is possibly very short-term thinking, and also considering doing a podcast but no strong theme comes to mind except for talking about gigs with a pretentious alter ego voice.

Haha, I always think podcasts sound so fun until I remember that someone would need to edit it and then I'm like... shit.

I like the idea of always thinking forward in your work.

I only really recall wanting to publish these old diary comics whenever I stumble upon them again (like now), otherwise I resonate with the looking forward in creating too.

I know exactly what you mean, for that reason if I do it I wouldn't edit more than the basic intro. So it'll just be me talking ha ha. You never know whether there's a demand for something though until you try I suppose? I feel that relying on one thing is risky also, but I'm going through a bit of a content crisis this year and feel I need to produce a lot. Maybe that is relatable?!

Loved seeing you flip through the pages of that notebook- your drawings are so neat! Do you draw in pencil first and then ink? Or do you directly draw with ink??

Thank you so much Kenshō!

I actually went straight in with the micron pen, which is honestly kind of insane given the likelihood of mistakes, but for some reason it worked for me.

I almost liked it in a way. I let the mistakes happen and on some pages it looked a little goofy, but I've always been a big fan of seeing an artists' errors and humanity in their work. I find it very charming (at least when I'm enjoying other people's art-- I'm, like most people, must harder on myself).

They’re so beautiful! But I was honestly amazed at how few mistakes there actually were - mine would look so messy if I went straight to ink ✍️ (but tempted to now try! ;)

Haha, yes! It's worth a dabble.

Normally I think I'd have made more mistakes, but because I knew I was being INSANE by going straight to ink I drew more slowly, which helped me to make less mistakes.

Also! I nearly forgot, I actually used white out to varying degrees on these too. I forget because the lines are hard to see, but sometimes they shine through because the colored pencil can't color over those lines.

You must have had this one ready and queued up to be published before last week.

LOL, this is exactly accurate.

It was Mat's idea that I set myself up for 6 months of posts in advance for my maternity leave. It took a VERY LONG TIME, but it is sooooo worth it.

And in the end I was really proud of how much work I put into them all, so now the only effort I need to add is making sure to share my posts on IG and responding to comments. :D

oOoooOo, computer expo, that sounds fun! I used to love going to Fry's Electronics with my dad as a kid, so that sounds cool!

I had to look up Mythic Quest just now.

Is this a good show? I like the idea of the premise. And love Rob McElhenney, of course. :)
