Oh wow, DE's art style is really nice. Love the painterly quality! And it's on Switch now! I'd love to play, it looks so interesting! I'm all down for narrative games.
What if I told you after making this post I played AC with zero irony? It was the cheesiest game session of my life, lol. *still feels too guilty to hurt any villagers feelings*
I started out with the original Atari and Pong... been gaming ever since but not as much the last few years. Really enjoyed Quake 3 and Nintendo anything with my favs being Banjo Kazooi, Sunshine Mario and any Zelda.
Oh man, I miss Banjo Kazooi! Also Mario and Zelda are classics forever.
Have you been able to play the last Zelda (Breath of the Wild)? I think it is quite literally my favorite game of all time. They're coming out with a new version of it in a couple months too and I am just frothing at the bit!!!
It's been a minute since I've called myself a gamer. I used to be a big fan of turn-based strategy games, especially Civilization. When I play that game, I always try for a cultural victory, which isn't easy, but it is very satisfying. I should probably start gaming again, but at this point I don't even know what platform to start with. Keep in mind, I started my gaming life on an Atari 2600, graduated to an Apple 2C, graduated to the old school Nintendo, begged for, but did not get a Sega Genesis, gave up on gaming, got into PC gaming, gave up on gaming, had a moment with the PS3 because of Red Dead Redemption, then gave up on gaming again. I'll be back, though. But right now I have an old Macbook that would probably take a giant shit if I loaded a game on it.
HAHA, oh god yeah I've tried to dl games onto my Macbook and it's been a terrible experience every time (I don't learn).
I'm sorry your begging didn't lead to a Sega Genesis because Sonic 2 was basically a religious experience. Red Dead looked incredible but I sadly haven't had a PS since I was a wee lass playing the GTAs of yore.
I've been pretty settled with my Switch for quite a while now. I'm biased, but I will always sing its praises. Nintendo forEVVERRRRR!!! I'm also obsessed with most simulator games. Don't even get me started on Cities: Skylines (please get me started).
I don’t know Cities: Skylines so please get started.
Red Dead really hooked me because it was so cinematic. I honestly only did like 80% of the missions. Mostly, I just rode around the old west helping people and getting into poker games. Then one day I let my wife play and she murdered everyone at the poker table, then punched my horse! My reputation was ruined and I can’t go back.
HAHAHAHA i love your wife for that, that definitely sounds like something I've mistakenly done in Skyrim then was shocked that the people wouldn't "get over" my arbitrary murder.
Ugh I really want to play that gaaameeee, I've seen lots of clips from it and I just adore open world games like that. I love games where you can literally watch a sunset one minute and then be a complete psycho the next.
Haha! Wigglebottom, that makes me think of a cute dog, I love it. It's hard to not be entertained by names that end in 'bottom'. No one can convince me otherwise. Especially since it has a British-feel, which is like, immature and fancy at the same time.
And omg, Factorio! My husband used to play this! It looks really fun and addictive. I love building games with aerial maps like this, they just feel so classic and endless.
I looked up Slitherio, is that like next-level Snake? The rainbow snake is so cute.
I haven't played Township but it looks very much like my cup of tea. I'm obsessed with Stardew Valley which is a farming simulator and what can I say, I love managing digital crops! I do it in Animal Crossing too. Cannot. Get. ENOUGH!
This was a very enjoyable read!
"Is anyone here a gamer? If so, what are your favorite video games?"
Disco Elysium became my favorite game. If interested in that narrative style of game, I highly recommend it.
"Can I play Animal Crossing now?"
Yeah, but only ironically
Thank you so much, Ruka!

I have not had the opportunity yet, I think my son has it though... I see a pilfering in my near future. 🤣
