how adorable is this!!! ive missed the videos addictive to say least only proximity to the Pacific Coast could produce a being like you the teeth the mischievous sarcasm the bold lies "middle-aged" c'mon!!!! ha yeah 'fools rush in" rang a bell here and im not sure whether its a song a play or film either maybe just a cocktail napkin i see you kept the pet drama down to a minimum in background but still curious who survived... and the cartoon book reviews are astounding "Fun House" was brought to my attention 6 years ago for first time and ive still not bought it....the woman whose drawings you admire her slouchy figures look sooo interesting too

i'd re-stack this but want you all to myself happy new year !!! you pull off xmas sweater as well as anyone

Haha, I am middle aged, I swear!

I've always been told that if you double your age and if that year wouldn't be considered a "tragic" death, then you're middle-aged and I'm 38 and 76 doesn't sound too tragic.

I googled "Fools Rush In" and it's apparently a Matthew Perry / Salma Hayek rom-com.

Yes, I love Eleanor Davis' slouchy drawings, haha. She definitely draws very rounded shoulders and small heads and I don't know why I like that so much.

I think the small heads just feel so opposite to how cartoons are typically drawn and rounded linework always strikes me as so alive for whatever reason.

wow that description of middle age had my puny brain doing sumersaults...the gist i take it being double a certain cache of years thrown over back like Santa may be MORE THAN ENOUGH of what we may reasonably expect of this life and so the goal posts of middle age are moveable depending on our expectations.... brilliant and somehow comforting because if you doubled my age i'd be on the cover of TIME and no regrets heeeheee

omg i have seen that movie and remember a particularly romantic scene when this couple she gets pregnant on a one night stand and slowly he becomes enmeshed in her tight and loving and strange for him Hispanic culture but has backed off and now realising he is in love somehow tracks her down overlooking some huge wall of a dam (Hoover?) which made me want to see that part of the West and Hollywood kicks in bigtime at that point but we are all suckers...

thanks for sharing the cartoon inspiration: rounded shoulders and small heads is definitely a psychological tell i'd wager

my fav. drawing ever was a circle of stick figure people with stick arms outstretched beseechingly towards the stick in front sorta like sleepwalkers the caption: "I love you, i want you, i thjink i need you!!" i probably misquoted but you get idea lol
