Can you believe we’re already A QUARTER of the way through the first century of the Willenium?

Well hot damn, life moves fast.

It seems only yesterday we were Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It™.

But alas, time has continued it’s very rude march forward.

I’ve come to find if you don’t give yourself excuses to slow down, life will just crop dust past you (like I do to my husband as often as possible).

And what cooler time to reflect than after another celestial orbit around the sun!

To be honest, I felt kind of like a failure this year, since I had to devote so much of my energy to being a new mom, but after giving myself a minute to really reflect on the year I came to find I did actually do some cool art work!

I Finished and Submitted My First Book Pitch!

Which is an accomplishment in-and-of-itself.

I’ve never done this before and my “outline” ended up becoming the fully written book (heh), so, you could say I also wrote a book this year.

OK, now it looks like I was wildly productive, but I gotta admit something:

Given the slow nature of publishing, most of these accomplishments were originally written (at least partially) in 2023.

So next year will actually better represent my productivity for this last year anddd it’s probably going to be pretty quiet.

But that’s okay.

I’m still proud of these accomplishments.

But 2024 was also a complicated year.

Navigating postpartum and my new life as a mom was (is) not easy.

I am often getting caught up in the idea that I’m never doing enough— that I’m somehow both neglecting my parenting and career at the same time.

I try very hard to remind myself that basically everyone feels this way and that it’s not helpful to put so much judgment on myself.

—That life is only lived once and there is no perfect way to do it.

—That I am trying and evolving everyday and hopefully someday I’ll figure out that that is enough.
