ok so admittedly i'm slow when concentrating too much and under pressure say on Jeopardy i couldn't even answer "a country to the north of Duluth" within the same time frame it took me just now to decipher your cartoon from the moment it hit in-box (and i was watching trailer for newest Steve Martin doc. if thats any excuse) until NOW but then,,,, i got it (i hope) and chuckled hard and am i right?: cats do NOT require anything but lasers to distract them, no hero's or any other damn thing they are existential, fickle and totally immune to our values hahah im probably wrong at least i got "what is Canada" !!!
I enjoy playing regardless, but my brain is a lumbering mess.. probably why I enjoy to write and draw, I can take my time expressing myself and finding the right words.

It sounds like you get the joke, Appleton! All the cats are just entranced by the laser pointer and its in-theme w/ the Bat Signal. It's not multi-layered or anything, just a simple har-har.

Omg Janette and I love Marceline, but never knew about Rebecca Sugar. We actually haven't quite finished Adventure Time, because we don't want it to end. I think we're on the last season :X

I HAD NO IDEA SINGLES WAS THEIR THESIS (i had also seen it when it came out and this pulled it from the deep caverns of my mind)
i do still watch animation perhaps as a from of longing for a career in it but alas.
Both of these shows were absolutely strong inspirations for me and i revel in any opportunity to relive the emotions they make me feel.
Everything Stays from the end of the original Adventure Time episodes makes me feel such a gut wrenching explosion of so many emotions in contemplating the way we exist. How do they do it!
Oh shit I need to watch that AT episode! I don't think I finished the whole series.

I also really wanted to work in animation! It was the first drawing related job I thought I wanted, but then I got in my head because I kept hearing about how exploitative the animation industry can be... so I made comics instead.

I last listened to Fiona Apple several years back, when I was in high school. In 1999. Ahem.
But I can't stop listening to this track. It's so many things at once. It is familiar AND it has me off balance and disoriented. In one moment I expect to see Hugh Grant strolling through a Notting Hill market—"and next year it'll be clear"—and then it punches me in the face with the whole history of blues and desire and longing: "Bang it. Bite it. Bruise it!"
It really is a great song about love and marriage/partnership. Messy, joyful, painful, forgiving, familiar, intimate, and violently fighting for it.
I love that she seems to be saying that we're all going to die someday, and maybe nothing means anything, but she knows she's in love and that's all that matters in this moment. It's such a beautiful perspective.
